What makes our Openreach FTTP broadband great?

Available to 60% of UK premises

Our FTTP coverage continues to expand rapidly, and we’re now able to provide Openreach FTTP services to over 20 million premises in the UK. Find out if FTTP is available at your address using our broadband checker.

No mid-contract price increases

Unlike many other ISPs, we do not increase prices during your contract term. The amount listed is the price you pay throughout your contract term, no unpleasant price increase surprises.

FTTP download speeds of 900Mbps

By serving your property with fibre optic cabling, we’re able to provide average speeds of 900Mbps on our top-tier plan (with a maximum of 1000Mbps), ensuring you have the fastest speeds available on our network. This is the next-best thing to a dedicated leased line, at a fraction of the cost.

FTTP upload speeds of 110Mbps

Whether you’re sending important files to colleagues, a video to YouTube, or a photo to Instagram, you want it to happen fast. Our top-tier FTTP connections have upload speeds as fast as 110Mbps on average (with a maximum of 115Mbps), allowing you to push data out to the internet at blistering speeds, with no restrictions.

Unlimited downloads

There are no usage restrictions on the amount you download on your FTTP connection, no time-of-day restrictions, and no fair usage policies, just a promise that we’ll do our best to keep our network running fast.

Unlimited uploads

Just the same as with downloads, we don’t restrict how much you can upload on your FTTP connection, and you are free to upload as much as your connection can support, at any time of the day.

IPv4 and IPv6 natively supported

We fully support both IPv4 and IPv6 on our broadband connections. You can have a dynamic IPv4 address for free, or a static IP for £2/month + VAT. A huge /48 IPv6 allocation can also be routed to you free of charge.

UK-based phone and ticket support

Our friendly support team is based in Middlesbrough, in the North East. Calls are answered by our expert staff, the very same team who handle your support tickets. Phone support hours are 10am-6pm Monday to Friday.

"I chose File Sanctuary for a cloud server to deliver subscription content for my iOS app, and it has turned out to be an excellent decision. The server was easy to set up and has proved to be completely reliable. If support is required, it is rapid, helpful, and detailed. As well as all this, it is exceptionally good value. My desire was for a 'fit and forget' server that just works, so that I can focus my time on improving the app rather than fighting a server, and File Sanctuary delivered this seamlessly."

Frequently asked questions

Which install type should I pick?

As of June 1st, 2025, Openreach now only allow Standard installs for residential addresses. Commercial addresses require Premium or Advanced, except when an existing line is being switched to us from another provider.

When ordering a broadband line on the Openreach network, you are offered four choices for the Install Type:

Migration of Existing Line
This option is used when switching a line to us from another provider, and can be used for both residential and commercial addresses. The conditions for using this option are:

  • There must already be a line on-site and that line must still have an active service from the other provider
  • You must not cancel the service with the other provider -- as part of the switching process, we notify the other provider that they are losing the line

Standard
A standard install is suitable for a consumer home (simple path to installation). An engineer will visit the premises and will:

  • Install up to 10m of cable from the nearest power socket to the lead-in
  • Ensure wiring meats Openreach standards
  • Connect the FRITZ!Box router (if ordered)
  • Connect one device to the router
  • Demonstrate the speeds attained to the householder

Premium
A premium install is suitable for a consumer home, a small office, and simple retail shops. It covers all the Standard features, along with the following additional points:

  • Install up to 30m of cable from the nearest power socket to lead-in (for businesses this includes difficult locations such as in an existing cable tray or trunking, in an accessible ceiling, or floor voids -- subject to engineer risk assessment)
  • Connect up to 3 devices in total
  • Move the router to provide the best Wi-Fi coverage and conduct Wi-Fi analysis in up to 3 rooms
  • Install up to 2 data extension kits and/or shift NTE (master socket)
  • Remove powerline adapters

Advanced
An advanced install is suitable for medium to large offices, large retail locations, railway stations, airports, schools, care homes, fire stations, etc. This option is intended for commercial or industrial installations with complex cabling requirements. It covers all the Standard and Premium features, along with the following additional points:

  • Install up to 100m of cable from the nearest power socket to lead-in
  • Install complex cabling if needs be through multiple walls
  • Use existing cable trays running horizontally or vertically (which may be through multiple floors)
  • Install services through ceiling or floor tiles that are removable and easily accessible
  • Use in-situ cabling (structured) to provide service
  • Connect to existing in-building structured cabling (eg in comms rooms)
