It's a new year, and that means it's time for our annual State of the Sanctuary update, a look back at everything we've been working on for the last year and what lies ahead for 2026.
A lot has changed in the tech world over the last 12 months. The shift towards hybrid work continues, and businesses of every size are leaning harder than ever on secure cloud platforms, dependable connectivity, and expert support. We’ve spent 2025 strengthening our infrastructure, expanding our services, and preparing for some major milestones on the horizon.
Let's dive in.
Platform Uptime
Service reliability has always been one of our guiding principles. I've missed a couple of these annual updates, so let's get caught up with our Cloud platform uptimes since our last update:
- In 2023 our Cloud platform uptime was 99.991%
- In 2024 our Cloud platform uptime was 99.986%
- In 2025 our Cloud platform uptime was 99.998%
As always, our independently-hosted status page shows uptime metrics for last 90 days and is the best place to view real-time information and historical uptime metrics. We will continue to post annual reports here in our State of the Sanctuary blog posts.

Broadband and VoIP
In the last few years, Openreach's FTTP rollout has continued at a rapid pace with just over 60% of properties in the UK now able to receive ultrafast FTTP broadband services. There's still a long way to go before Openreach hit their target of 95% nationwide coverage by December 2028 however.
To make sure we can bring the benefits of FTTP broadband to even more customers, we added CityFibre FTTP to our portfolio in August 2024. This expands our FTTP footprint to areas that do not yet have widespread Openreach FTTP coverage, and also customers a choice of networks in locations where both are available.
For areas where FTTP is not yet available, we continue to offer SOGEA broadband with over 95% coverage, and SOGFast broadband where available.
For those still wanting great phone service, our Business VoIP and Home VoIP services provide powerful telephone services whether you have one phone or hundreds. For more advanced customers with their own PBX, we also offer SIP Trunk services where you can leverage our phone connectivity with your existing solutions.
Leased Lines
Leased lines continue to be the gold standard in connectivity, with ultra-low latency, no contention, and speeds of up to 10Gbps. Leased line costs vary depending on your specific property, so please contact us today for a no-obligation quote.
Cloud Servers and Dynamic Cloud
We've continued to optimise our Cloud Server platform over the last few years. We're now on our sixth hardware refresh, introducing a 33% drop in RAM prices in late 2024, while at the same time significantly boosting network capacity, with network speeds now burstable up to 10Gbps.
For very dynamic workloads our Dynamic Cloud platform is an on-demand powerhouse. With our API you can spin servers up and down as you need them, perfect for projects that need to scale automatically to balance cost and power. Servers on our Dynamic Cloud platform are available with hourly billing for times when you don't need to have a server for a whole month -- whether you just want to try something out for an hour or two, or you just need temporary extra capacity but don't want to have to commit to having a server for a whole month. Ubuntu 22.04 EOL coming soon
In April 2027 the Ubuntu 22.04 operating system will reach its end-of-life. We'll be in touch over the coming months to arrange migrations to Ubuntu 24.04 (or 26.04 when this becomes available in April). If you'd like to get ahead of the curve on this migration, open a support ticket.
Web Hosting
Our Plesk-powered Web Hosting and WordPress Hosting platforms continue to be incredibly popular with their huge array of features, including generous disk space allocations, unlimited mailboxes, AI-powered Smart WordPress Updates, premium SpamExperts incoming filtering included as standard, and much more.
We're maintaining our commitment to continue to support customers on our older Virtualmin platform for the foreseeable future, however if you'd like to upgrade to our new platform to take advantage of the new features, create a support ticket and we'll do all the work to get you migrated across to the new platform -- there are no transfer costs!
Microsoft 365
Microsoft 365 continues to dominate the business productivity suite market, and we're on hand to help you put those tools to work for your business.
